PROGRAM
Day 1: MARRAKECH
Arrival in Marrakech. Welcome at the airport by our guide. Settling into a riad in the heart of the medina or a hotel, a relaxing experience in Marrakech, the ochre city that welcomed us into its splendid medina for a historical, cultural, and human discovery…at the foot of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains.
Depending on our arrival time, the tour begins, and we set off to explore the medina and its souks…
Dinner on a terrace with a panoramic view of the famous Jemma El Fnaa square.
Day 2: Marrakech – Wawla – Oued Lakhdar – Ait Bougamez
110 km transfer. 32 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: +800, -800 m.
We set off towards the rich Aït Bougmez valley via Wawla and Oued Lakhdar by 4×4. After the small village of Wawla, we prepare our bikes and take our first pedal strokes on a smooth track. Crossing forests of olive, almond, and holm oak trees to reach the Ait Abbas Valley. Numerous mud-brick villages and initial interactions with the local population, who welcome us… a surprising contrast of colors between the red rocks of the houses and the dazzling green of the cultivated terraces. We arrive in the late afternoon in the village of Agouti, where we are welcomed by Mustapha’s Berber family, who host us for the night in their lodge. We end the day with a short, leisurely stroll through the village.

Day 3: Aït Bouguemez
45 km mountain bike. Elevation gain: +500m, -500m.
We hop on our mountain bikes to explore the upper Bouguemez Valley as far as Ifrane. From there, we begin a steep climb to the Adazen Pass to reach the other side of the valley. At the top of the pass, the view over the greenery of the Happy Valley is breathtaking. After the pass, a beautiful descent into the other side of the valley, visiting the Ait Imi springs and the dinosaur tracks. Along the fruit tree forest, we reach the beautiful village of Agouti for the second night in a lodge.

Day 4: Agouti – Abachkou – Imi-n-ouka
20 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -900 m, +800 m.
Early morning departure towards the Aït Bouali Valley (the Red Valley). After a 30-minute mountain bike ride from our lodge, we will visit the Jaro canyon, a beautiful canyon with troglodyte houses, then follow the Assif Aït Boulli to the Abachkou Valley, a rolling terrain with dazzling colors. Lunch on the banks of the wadi. In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the village of Tisant and climb under the watchful eye of Mount Ghat to cross Tizi n’Tighist (2,400m), famous for its rock carvings. A beautiful descent to the village of Imi-n-Ouka.

Day 5: Imi-n-ouka – Demnate – Ait Ali-n-Ito
45 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -700m, +800m.
Fourth pedal stroke on a red dirt track. Long stretches along the hillside before the ascent of our first pass, Tizi n’Amarskine (2,020m), with a superb view of the Iwaredne Valley. We’ll descend to Imi n’Ifri (1,200m), passing through numerous Berber villages. Visit the natural bridge of Imi N’Ifri. One of the most beautiful geological sites in Morocco, followed by a descent that will take us to the village of Ait Ali-n-Ito, where we will be staying in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Aït Ali-n-Ito – Amezri – Lkhmis N’Imeghrane
45 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -700 m, +800 m.
In a wild environment, our route follows the Tassaout Valley and its Berber villages nestled in the valleys. Verdant mountain landscapes, a few fords to cross, a dizzying road, be careful!
After crossing the village of Amezri and the Tizi N’Imi-n-Oulaoun pass, the trek begins in the direction of Lkhmis N’Imeghrane, a stunning landscape of the central High Atlas, in the heart of typical villages with their collective granaries and tall adobe kasbahs where locals practice livestock breeding and agriculture using traditional techniques.

Day 7: Lkhmis N’Imeghrane (1470 m) – Azaghar N’Yigr (1972 m) – Ait Toumert (1795 m) – Tizi N’Imdane (1950 m) – Boutaghrar (1500 m)
50 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -900 m, +850 m. Upstream from the N’Imeghrane Valley, with its lush crops and fortified villages, the songs of the Oued will lull you to sleep until you reach the last village of Aguerd.
We experience a complete change of scenery to discover a mineral landscape that which gently leads us to the great plateau of Azaghar N’Yigr (a grazing ground where nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes gather in winter) with the pleasant scents of mugwort and thyme filling the place.
We descend the N’Ait Toumert valley then climb to Tizi N’Imdane to find an old track that will lead us to a succession of hamlets typical of their adobe architecture. Welcome to the Valley of Roses! Home to majestic Kasbahs, cultivated gardens rich in delicate scents, and sublime gorges colored with oleanders. Sublime landscapes and a striking festival of colors lead us to the village of Boutaghrar where we find lush gardens colored with rose bushes whose scent of the Damascus rose spreads especially in late April and early May. Day 8: Dades Valley: Boutaghrar (1500m) – Tistouit Pass (2300m) – Ighrem Akdim (1680m) – Aït Youl Dades Pass (1562m) – Ait Youl Kelaa (1500m)
50 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -850m, +900m.
Heading towards the Dades Valley via the Djbel Tistouit Pass, we cross the Oued M’goun, which rises high in the Atlas Mountains and generously feeds the flower gardens of the Valley of Roses and the distant Draa Valley, where the desert meets. We take a trail that leads to the village of Ikhrem Akdim in the Dades Valley, one of the most beautiful and fertile valleys in southern Morocco. A second steady climb leads to the lush greenery of Ait Youl de Dades. Lunch is served in the gorges before continuing along the lush and beautiful Dades Valley, passing through a succession of traditional adobe villages, home to majestic collective granaries, to Aït Youl de la Vallée des Roses, to discover the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.

Maximum altitude: 2,300 m.
Day 9: Saghro Massif: Ait Youl Kelaa (1,500 m) – Col Tagmoute (1,954 m) – Ifran (1,720 m)
55 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -600 m, +750 m. We cross the vast volcanic region of the Saghro Mountains, a pre-Saharan massif, home to the large nomadic tribe called Aït Atta. An ancient volcano, sculpted by time and the elements, the landscape is lunar and surprising. Jagged and steep plateaus, deep canyons, basalt peaks, remote valleys… tell a geological story written by Amane (water), Azwou (wind), and Tafoukt (sun). We return to our sublime bivouac with the help of a mule to transport our supplies. Overnight at a lodge in Ifran.
Maximum altitude: 1954 m.
Day 10: Saghro Massif: Ifran (1720 m) – Tifdassine (1380 m) – Tadaoute N’Tiblah (1650 m) – Tifrit (1060 m)
50 km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -800m, +500m.
We enter the heart of the massif, riding on a hilly track to reach the Taoudacht Valley, then a beautiful, not very steep climb to enjoy a magnificent view of the valley we have just crossed.
We take a beaten track through a gap in the rocky hills, a breathtaking view of the Tadaoute N’Tiblah cirque. We continue along a path, initially stony, which will lead us, after a beautiful descent, to the verdant Ousdidne Valley and then to Tifrit.
Overnight in a lodge in Tifrit.
Maximum altitude: 1650 m.
Day 11: Tifrit – N’kob – Taftechna – Zagora
65km of mountain biking. Elevation gain: -850m, +300m.
Departure due south through a verdant valley, passing through numerous Berber villages, fields of alfalfa, henna, and date palms, to arrive at N’kob.
Then, we embark on a beautiful climb through a desert landscape softened by a few small green oases. We arrive at the village of Tanout N’Ieraben, where we will load our bikes for the long crossing of a desert plain.
Overnight bivouac with a splendid view of the palm groves of the Draa Valley.
Maximum altitude: 1,250 m
Day 12: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Final stage through the gardens of the lush Draa Valley.
We pass through beautiful isolated villages with their kasbahs and oases, meeting locals. We load our bikes for a rich discovery and encounter, along the road to the Draa Valley and its string of date palms. Visit the sublime Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the Ounila Valley, it was one of the crossing points for the caravan trade between the south and Marrakech. It is an example of the typical architectural art of southern Morocco.
We continue towards the Tichka Pass (2,260 m) (The Pasture Pass). Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
6.5-hour drive.
Day 13: Departure.
Free time, depending on flight times, transfer to the airport.
