Detailed Itinerary – 7 Days

Day 1

Marrakech – Tichka – Ouarzazate – Tagdilt

We depart early from Marrakech, traveling towards Ouarzazate via the Tizi N' Tichka pass. Along the way, we explore the stunning Dades Valley, famous for its thousand Kasbahs. Continuing south through a desert plateau, we arrive at the village of Tagdilt for an overnight homestay at 1650m. Estimated driving time: 6-7 hours.

Day 2

Tagdilt – Col N'Iferd – Irefd – Plateau N'Ouarg (2250m)

Our hike begins with the loading of the mules. We cross a vast plateau before ascending towards the Tizi N'iferd pass (2400m), offering stunning views of the Central High Atlas Massif. We then descend into the Iferd Plateau, where we set up our camp. This plateau is often used by the semi-nomadic Ait Atta people. Overnight camping at 2250m. Estimated walking time: 5.5-6 hours.

Day 3

Almou N'Ouarg – Summit of Kouaouch (2600m) – Igli (1700m)

Today, we climb to the summit of Kouaouch (2600m), a non-technical ascent with breathtaking views. After a picnic brought by our cook, we descend via Tassegdilt to our campsite in Igli (1700m). Overnight camping at Igli. Estimated walking time: 5.5-6 hours.

Day 4

Igli – Ighazoun Through Dawabid

We descend from Igli, passing a natural rock formation resembling the head of an elephant and the Tizi Nognid pass. After lunch at Dawabid, we continue to Ighazoun, where we spend the night camping amidst stunning, peaceful views. Estimated walking time: 4.5-5 hours.

Day 5

Ighazoun Oasis – Bab N'Ali

We leave Ighazoun at 8:30 a.m. and head towards Bab N'Ali, passing through the impressive Tiblah needles. We descend into the beautiful valley, stopping for lunch with panoramic views of the needles. Afterward, we continue towards Bab N'Ali for a night of camping under the stars, surrounded by the towering cliffs of Bab N'Ali. Estimated walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 6

Bab N'Ali – Village of Kasbah N'Koub – Agdez – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After thanking our mule team for their assistance, we reflect on the incredible adventure across the Jebel and Saghro plateaus. Our journey takes us through the Draa Valley, famous for its date palm groves, and past the cinematic city of Ouarzazate. Finally, we pass the Tizi N'Tichka pass once more on our return to Marrakech.
