Detailed Itinerary – 6 Days

Challenging trek requiring good physical condition
Day 1

Marrakech – The Village of Tamalakout

In the morning, depart for the southern slopes of the Atlas. Travel to the village of Tamalakout (5-hour drive). Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional welcome at the home of our Berber muleteers (1650m). In the late afternoon, take a short stroll around the village. Spend the night with the locals, experiencing authentic Berber hospitality and preparing for the days ahead.

Day 2

Tamalakout – The Village of Aït Tigga

Leave Tamalakout (1650m) in the morning. After loading the mules, ascend the desert plateaus towards the summit of Siroua. The trail offers increasingly dramatic views as you gain altitude. Camp in front of the village of Aït Tigga (1950m), where you'll have your first proper mountain camping experience. Walk time: 5 hours.

Day 3

Aït Tigga, Idoughagh, and Aït Ighmour

Visit the ancient agadir (a 900-year-old granary) in Aït Tigga, then continue to the villages of Idoughagh and Aït Ighmour (2200m). Take breaks as needed along the way. The path climbs steeply, crossing the Col of Tachancht (2500m) with spectacular panoramic views. Enjoy lunch near a spring (2400m). Pass by a group of Azibs (sheep pens) at the foot of Tisfeldalt, and camp near Siroua. Walk time: 6 hours 30 minutes.

Day 4

The Siroua Summit (3305m)

In the early morning, begin the ascent to Siroua (3305m) via its southern slope, with a moderate but sustained climb. The reward is absolutely worth the effort - panoramic views across the entire Anti-Atlas range and beyond. Enjoy lunch at the foot of the summit, then descend through Tikniwine (the Twins) to reach the sheep pens of Irhiri (2300m). Walk time: 6 hours 30 minutes.

Day 5

Irhiri – Tamazikht

Depart eastward, following the Tazoult and crossing the Irihi massif to reach the base of Msitalla. The route follows an easy path along the watershed, offering beautiful views of the surrounding valleys. Eventually arriving at the final camp near the village of Tamazikht (1730m), where you can reflect on your incredible mountain achievement. Walk time: 6 hours 30 minutes.

Day 6

Tamazikht – Marrakech

After a final mountain breakfast, we'll drive back to Marrakech, arriving in the early afternoon. Alternatively, we can arrange for you to continue to Ouarzazate if you prefer. You'll have time to relax and celebrate your successful summit of Siroua before your onward travels or flight home.
